Welcome to Future Genetics’ Programmed Learning and Programmatic Learning course. Where you “program yourself”.

How Future Genetics Independent Study Grading Works:

Pre-test / post-test:

For the enrollee taking Future Genetics as a pass/fail course, it is required that a pre-test/ post-test be taken. However, it is not required
that it be a passing score. Just that it is taken. Taking and passing
“qualifying tests” is of academic interest, however. ( Refer to the Future
Genetics
course syllabus for more about qualifying tests. Click on hyper link, when viewed on line.) The student must take each qualifying
or performance test as outlined in the
Future Genetics course syllabus, which has been designed and written for regular students. The
“pass” grade is awarded when qualifying or performance tests are taken in accordance to the
Future Genetics course syllabus.

Generally, the program could be completed in six (6) weeks or less. Since, this intended to be a self-paced, self-contained, independent
course, and some people may take more or less time to catch on or to complete the program. It depends on each individual’s needs and
timetable.

The
Future Genetics course syllabus is a universal program, designed to primarily meet the needs and rigor required for “credit” or regular
student enrollment. Since this is a global course, the schedule is virtually always open for taking the course and for attending “class”. (i.e.,
Time zones vary around the globe.)

For
Continuing Education or non-credit enrollees:  The Future Genetics course syllabus is in order to help orientate, to help provide an
intended recommended pace, and to serve as the intent of this independent, self-paced, self-contained, study course.

Therefore, Professional Health Care enrollees and non-credit readers are basically on the “honor system”, to follow the intent of the
Future
Genetics
course and syllabus.

or date. It need not be a fixed event. This program is designed for a global class. The
Future Genetics course is flexible, with optional
attendance on any given day. The posted schedule is merely a guideline in order to post Q&A’s.

Generally, a six (6) week period of time could be enough time to complete the course and at a regular pace. The student or the

professional
begins when he or she is ready.

Getting Started

For e-Campus Learning ( “Online”)

The student will download the “pdf"course Syllabus and other special pages during the “Administrative Period”.  This period is an
orientation session for previewing/reviewing course policy, philosophy and requirements.  This period allows the student time to examine
their current schedule, and to thoughtfully determine how to fit this course into it.  The syllabus and special pages displayed are
interactive, when viewed “online”.  One of the pages displays a sample of the course pace, which represents an extended time line for a
typical regular term, “Session I”, i.e., taking approximately 12-16 weeks.  The student will distinguish between pages displayed on the
“pdf" syllabus.  For example, the student will make the distinction between main performance objectives from Specific Performance
Objectives
.  At this Administrative Period the student will become further orientated by learning how the Programmed instruction system
and the Programmatic Learning Formula actually work. Also, the student will become familiar with some of the initial topics presented in
genetics, to ease into the subject.  The student could navigate thru each page, with the interactive Syllabus and other special interactive
pages that appear, as it may be viewed on their computer screen “online”.  Each session is called the
“Study Lab”.
The student will become responsible for maintaining their own pace, and to schedule time accordingly to complete all
assignments/qualifying tests.  The student will complete, and send back electronically to the Instructor, the part on the page captioned as,
“Required Form”. This page is like a contract before commencing this.
The student will next be given access to  the Future Genetics course “pdf”, the first pre-test assignment, Units 1-3.  Subsequent pre-test
assignments will be available as set forth in the guidelines and course outline, presented in the syllabus.  The student’s computer serves as
“Materials Center”, for their source of information.

For On-Campus (Terrestrial) Learning

The student will receive the course syllabus and other special handouts during the “Administrative Period”.  This is a session for
previewing/reviewing course policy, philosophy and requirements. This period allows the student time to examine their current schedule,
and to thoughtfully determine how to fit this course into it.  One of the pages given out is a sample of the course pace, which represents
an extended time line for a typical regular term, “Session I”, i.e., taking approximately 12-16 weeks.  The student will distinguish between
pages of the syllabus and other special pages handed out.  For example, the student will make the distinction main performance objectives
from Specific Performance Objectives.  At this Administrative Period the student will become further orientated by learning how
Programmed instruction system and the
Programmatic Learning Formula actually work.  Also, the student will become familiar with some
of the initial, most fundamental, topics presented in genetics, to ease into the subject.
The student will become responsible for maintaining their own pace, and to schedule time accordingly to complete all
assignments/qualifying tests.  The student will complete, and return back to the Instructor, the part on the handout page captioned as,”
Required Form”.  This page is like a contract before commencing this course.
The student will next be given the first pre-test assignment at the Materials Center, Units 1 thru 3 of the
Future Genetics course.  The
“Materials Center”
is an area in the Study Lab.  The student could use the “Study Lab” for reading the Programmed text and for taking
Qualifying Tests, administered from the Materials Center.  The student could obtain a complete and authentic copy of the
Future Genetics
Programmed Learning textbook (hard copy) by Special Purchase Order (SPO) online. A Certificate of Authenticity will be issued, and it
shall be used to validate the most current text that is used for Qualifying Tests. To Order: www.

Hard copy or Window Viewing Text on
Future Genetics Programmed Learning Program

·        The bullet design below frames of text on
Future Genetic pages represent a signal to the reader to “stop”. The bullet is a marker
that indicates to the student that the corresponding answer to the text will appear next, that is immediately below the bullet mark.  The
bullet mark is found in each enumerated frame of text on each page of the
Future Genetics Programmed Learning text.
·        The student should drag down the “pdf” slowly, when reading and proceeding down the page.  This is to avoid exposing the
answer below the bullet, when viewing the Programmed text on the computer screen technique is used.  Seeing the answer, before
thoughtfully saying it and writing it, takes away the positive reinforcement that the reader will feel from positive feedback.
·        The student should use an envelope, pop-up, or some other blocker to cover-up the answer.  A piece of paper folded in half works
well. “Stop”, when getting to the bullet.  Thoughtfully say then write the answer down on a separate page or area, then proceed down the
page. Until hitting the next bullet.  Only revealing the printed answer after sliding the blocker page down or dragging down the page
slowly.  Repeat this with each page.  For e-learning there may be a sign that displays, “Ready ? Take a QT now”? This is simply an
internal pre-test prompt, when it is near the end of a pre-test assignment.  Click “Yes” or “No”. The computer will sequentially select the
appropriate qualifying test (QT) and randomly select 1 of 20 forms for each of the 12 QTs, which are scheduled to be taken.
·        The program will be most effective and most rewarding to the student that covers-up or conceals the answers provided. The
answers will always appear below the bullet design in each frame of text on each page of the
Future Genetics Programmed Learning text.
Positive reinforcement by reward has been a proven method of learning or responding. Reading then saying then writing something is
another proven method, which is more effective than just reading it.  Use a piece of scratch paper, or create a blank area on the screen to
type in responses.
